THE ROME OF THE LAST

The Rome of the Last is a work that seeks to delve into a forgotten reality. A story about that invisible part of humanity, which lives on the margins of the urban context and is completely abandoned. In the midst of the Jubilee, it is right to show the hidden faces of a humanity that suffers, that is completely alone, in situations often at the limit of physical and psychological survival. It is important to tell the story of an underground world made of degradation and fear, of a complete absence of structures and affections.
The Rome of the Last are the homeless who live in St. Peter's or under the Tiber, but also those who are locked in houses that never see the light, full of mountains of objects. The Rome of the Last are the lonely people who wander around the city desperately looking for food or a hug, those who live in trailers or in flooded basements. The Rome of the Last are the homeless at Termini station that no one wants to approach because they consider them aggressive or drug addicts, they are the Rome that is avoided by everyone like lepers.
The Rome of the Last is all that suffering and invisible humanity that we do not want to know or that we move away because it is not part of a system, because it is annoying. This work wants to give the possibility to that discarded part of Rome to have a face, to be recognized and visible.
